SLJ Week 4 day 3 Maui dolphins

This is the 2nd to last post of SLJ.

Activity 2

Here are some interesting facts about Maui Dolphins,

  • Maui dolphins are black and white.
  • Males are smaller than the females.
  • They have a round fin.
  • Some Maui dolphins have no fins at all.
  • Their favorite food is seaweed
  • They are only found in the North Island of NZ.
Can you find which 3 are false facts?

  1. Kia ora Teegan,

It's so great to see you joining in the Summer Learning Journey! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you are enjoying your school holidays, what have you been up to?

Are you sure Maui dolphins are black and white? I am thinking that one is false and that some Maui dolphins have no fins and that they are only found in the North Island, am I right?

Have you ever seen a dolphin in the wild before? I once went on holiday at a place called Tangalooma Island off the coast of Australia and there, I got to feed some dolphins, it was amazing!

Until next time, happy blogging. :)

  2. Hi Teegan,
I really like your facts about the Maui Dolphin, and your choice for us guessing the differences between real or fake. Well done!

I really have interest in the fact that males are smaller than the females (I know it is a true fact), and how they live only in the North Island. I also think that I am not going to be able to find this tre and false quiz out, so well done.
Maybe next time you can add a photo or something to add interest.

    Happy Blogging
