How to order Decimals

I'm back with another exciting post from YMS Rimu Class!

Today's Blog Post is going to be about How to order Decimals.

This week in Rimu, we are learning how to order Decimals.

Ordering Decimals is when you have a number, for example :

1.234 and then have others like 1.357 and 1.123,

What you do is. Huh? That's actually a pretty smart idea!
Actually why don't I just give you a video to save some time 'eh?

I hope you understand it a bit more now. Anyway, like I said before,

get some random numbers like 1.234 and then have others like 1.357 and 1.123.

Next, examine them and put them in the correct order.

1.123, 1.234, 1.357. See? It's simple! Now what I want you to do is

make up your own ordering of numbers.

In Rimu class, we have been learning how to deal with Probability. Prbability is probably the easiest part of maths, that we steamed right through it! Teachers, Please give us something harder next time. This is my work from the past week.

My Negative Numbers DLO

In Rimu class, we have been learning how to deal with negative numbers and how to Add, Minus, Times and Divide such numbers. This is all of the work I have done for the past 2 weeks.

Dot plot graphs

This week in Rimu, we were working on Dot plots and bar graphs. It is probably an easier way to do a graph. it is very simple. make an equation that needs a chart. then get a chart and make the percents in dots. Here is an example :

Robert, a Year 8 student at Roosevelt Middle School, usually goes to bed
around 10:00 p.m. and gets up around 6:00 a.m. to get ready for school.
That means that he gets about 8 hours of sleep on a school night.
He decided to investigate the statistical question: How many hours per
night do 6th graders usually sleep when they have school the next day?

Robert took a survey of other Year 8 children and collected the following
data to answer the question:

7 8 5 9 9 9 7 7 10 10 11 8 8 8 12 6 11 10 8 8 9 9 9 8 10 9 9 8

Robert decided to make a dot plot of the data to help him answer his
statistical question. Make a dot plot with Robert’s data.

Building Tiny Houses!

This week in Rimu was maths week! For maths week, we had to make a tiny house with area & perimeter. We had a draft of the house so we had an idea for the design. There was mini furniture, a roof, walls, a door, and windows. I even got an award yesterday for all the minor little details that I had made. I made such a cool house with brick walls, which was going to be wooden, a chimney, windows with bushes, and textured grass!

I am really proud of all the effort that I put into this house.

 It's not maths week without math, is it? We had some area & perimeter. Say if I had a shape that would be a 2x3 shape, that would be the area. The perimeter is when we add all the sides together, it would be 3+3+2+2 which equals 10. Try this at home and have some fun! Maybe get some parent help with the scissors.

T3 Math DLO

It's T3 already?!? Well in Rimu 2018 we've been answering some very hard questions this week. there were even algebra questions in the slide! Here is all of the work I have done! The Red writing is my answers to the questions. What it means that start from Yellow to Blue to Orange is to start from the lowest level to the highest level.

Measurements L4

Do you know what the angles on a straight line add up to? I didn't
either but now I do. The angles on a straight line add up to 180
degrees. That's what I have learnt from these questions.
 
If not, try to figure these questions out. I found them really
difficult to figure out so this might take a while. If you get stuck,
you can always get help from your parents or siblings at home.
I found it easyer to do it on pen & paper.

My Math DLO

Term 2 Week 3 already!?! Well I guess it`s time to show off my work DLO.
Using 36 in an 6x6 array, design an unusual floor pattern for Grace that has reflective and rotational symmetry.

This work was extravagentley difficult for me and my group to figure out. even when the answers were on the page linked but we could not get access.This is how we were told to solve it.
