Newsela

Hello Fellow Bloggers!
For reading we have been using Newsela.
Some of you might already have heard of it,
It's basically a test that you have to complete on a random subject.

Last week, we did an article about Hairless Cats.
Did you know that they have an 8% increase of body heat than others?
All of the articles come from the NYTimes.
You should go check it out! They have the most popular stories!

Anyway, Hairless cat's. What was I saying again?
That's right. They may not look as cute and playful as others,
but they are the most social cats in the world.
This particular breed of cats first started in Canada.

It was when a mother had a litter of 9 kittens.
One of which was hairless. It's genes were different to most cats.
Genes are what make the body form in it's looks.
Adopting a hairless cat is, let's say it's not that cheap,
as most people charge over $1300 to adopt one!

Their bodys aren't slimy to the touch but allow for downsides.
Here is a picture of what they look like.

They don't look that cuddly do they?
Their skin is like a magnet to dirt and dust,
making them irratated and itch at the skin.
I personally would rather have a Birman Seal Point.

What cat would you consider owning?
I would love to hear what your suggestions are!
I hope you learned something new!

  1. Hi Teegan It's Renae.
    This blog is great.
There's only 1 little thing I would like you to change/add, When you said this: I personaly would rather have a Birman Seal Point. At the end of that sentence you put a photo of that cat.
I would love to have a hairless cat, a Birman Seal Point, To and a Wild cat.
    Thats all.

  2. Hello Teegan, Charlotte here from GMS.
I like your Blog Post about newsela. It is very interesting.
I really like the 1st cat. I would love to have a hairless cat it kinda looks like mine but with no hair haha.
Next time maybe you could make it a slide then it would be easier than writing it all out.
Other than that this blog post is amazing.
    Bye for now, Charlotte.
