CSO! The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra!

Hello Fellow Bloggers!
Today at YMS, was a very interesting day!
We had some guests from CSO!
The CSO came in a little group of about 11 players.
No, that was not a Typo. Players.

For those who haven't heard of the CSO,
It stands for; Christchurch, Symphony Orchestra.
They had a group of some of their players preform at our school!
For Free!

In the group was a Harp, 2 Violins, Chello, Tuba, Trombone, Trumpet,
Flute, Claironett, and a weird instrument called a Basoo.
They each told us about how their instruments worked.
Did you know that a Violin has 12 notes?
They are the same 3 chords played with different pitches!

Some of them had mini versions that we could try for ourselves!
They were a really cool band and I think it would be cooler with all of them!
They played a couple of  well-known songs aswell!
The Harry Potter and Star Wars theme songs!

We also have a Trumpet player in our class!
Mia takes the stage!

I really enjoyed listening to their performance!
Would you like to try and play one of those instruments?
Let me know!

  1. Hey Teegan,

It's me Lucy from Yaldhurst Model School.

    I Really Enjoyed Your Blog!

    I found it intresting.

Maybe you could get a catch-ey title.
Also the videos did not work, but that might be my chromebook -_-.

    What was your favourite instrument?

    Kind Regards
    From Lucy

  2. HI Teegan
Great post I am pleased you enjoyed their visit. Did you know full orchestra's have guitarists in them too?
The bassoon is an odd instrument but a great sound, I heard a wonderful piece for baboon on the concert programme this morning on the way to work.
I would love to start learning the cello again. Is there another instrument you would like to learn.
I couldn't get Mia's video to play either.
    Have a great weekend,
    Ms Lange
